Start on your Loop
- Click an available Loop on the left. Its tick shows that it is the selected return Loop.
- Click On in the Output controls. The audience screen shows that Loop. Video Loops repeat; image Loops hold their picture. All Loops are silent.
- Click an Insert when you want to play it. Its own transition brings it onto the audience screen.
On is unavailable until you have both a selected external display and an available selected Loop. A Black Loop counts as a valid choice.
Choose where the Insert returns
Once the transition has finished, click the Loop you want afterwards. This chooses the return; it does not interrupt the Insert.
Leave the Insert to finish and it returns automatically. To leave early, click Return to loop when available. The return uses the selected Loop’s transition. Wait for the whole fade or stinger to finish before changing the return or returning early.
Next shows that destination and transition. The remaining time counts down while the bar fills from left to right. Insert timing turns yellow at ten seconds and red at five seconds.
Change your mind during playback
Clicking a different Insert during normal playback goes straight to that Insert. Clicking the Insert already playing leaves it alone.
Let a fade or stinger finish before clicking another Insert. Clicks during a transition are ignored rather than held for later; click again when it has finished. Off is still available.
On, Black and Off
On plays the selected Loop and lets you trigger Inserts. Returning to On starts that Loop; it does not resume an interrupted Insert.
Black fades the picture and app sound away, cancels playback and keeps the selected audience screen black. Inserts cannot start while Output is Black.
Off stops the app's output and gives the screen back to the Mac desktop. Use this when you need to use that screen normally.
A Black Loop is different from Output Black: select the Black tile and keep Output On if you want to play Inserts against black and return to black afterwards.
