09 / THE SHOW GUIDE

Run playback from the Touch Bar

If your Mac has a Touch Bar above the keyboard, you can use it alongside the main window. Every action is still available in the app on Macs without one.

Now playing and Next

Now playing shows the same source and remaining time as the main window. Next shows the upcoming action and destination.

The bar fills from left to right. Insert text, time and bar turn yellow at ten seconds and red at five. Image and Black Loops have no countdown.

Names use the space they need. Long names may shorten to keep Next and the playback controls visible.

Tap On once; double-tap Return, Black or Off

On takes one tap. Return, the screen icon for Black and the power icon for Off each need a quick double tap.

The first tap arms that button and leaves playback running. Tap it again within the Mac's normal double-click time—about half a second on the studio Mac—to run the action.

If you leave it too long, the first tap expires. It does not leave an action waiting for later. Changing playback or switching away from the app cancels it too.

Gold shows the actual output mode, not a mode you have only armed. The desktop Return, On, Black and Off controls keep their normal single-click behaviour.

Output Black: the screen icon is gold. On returns to the selected Loop. Click the picture to enlarge.
