Mark the part you want to play
- Right-click the Insert and choose Mark In / Out / Thumbnail…. You can also open it from Insert settings.
- Move along the timeline to find your starting picture. This is scrubbing: moving through the video without playing it at normal speed. Use −1 frame or +1 frame for a smaller adjustment.
- Click Mark In to set the start. Move to where playback should end and click Mark Out.
- Check Duration beside the clip name. It updates to show the length between In and Out.
- Click Done, then save the project when you want to keep the edit.
Play previews the clip here without sound. The playhead seconds display uses three decimal places: 02.500 means two and a half seconds. You can type a precise value in In or Out, then press Return.
Go to In and Go to Out jump to your markers. Reset points restores the whole video. In must come before Out, with at least one frame between them.
Pick a recognisable tile picture
- Scrub to the picture you want on this Insert's tile.
- Click Mark thumbnail. The THUMB marker shows that picture's position.
- Use Reset thumbnail if you want to go back to the first frame of the source video.
The thumbnail is just the tile picture. It does not change In or Out, and other tiles using the same file keep their own choices.
If this Insert is already on air, its current playback keeps the old In and Out points. The new range is used next time you play it.
